Here I am, a bundle of past recollections and future dreams, knotted up in a reasonably attractive bundle of flesh. I remember what this flesh had gone through; I dream of what it may go through. I record here the actions of optical nerves, of taste buds, of sensory perception. and, I think: I am but one more drop in the great sea of matter, defined, with the ability to realize my existence.

See me after 8th period, I’ll see if I can get you into one of the workshop classes, and don’t worry, I’ll get you an excuse for missing class.

Really?! That would be amazing! Thank you sooo much! But… I’ve never been in the drama wing before… Where am I going?

I live by myself so I don’t have anyone holding me back, my heart and soul is in contemporary and jazz. The way the music just hits my body and I begin to dance, its magic. I stopped taking ballet because it was so boring, I found my love for dance through ballet but there is only so many times I can practice on pointe before wanting to rip my hair out, I stopped taking her class after she repeated the same playlist for two years..

You’re lucky. I wish I could just stop taking it too. And I know how you feel. When the music plays and I start dancing… I feel weightless, like I can fly. Like nothing else matters in the world. Hey! Maybe you could show me a few things. I really want to be in the play but I doubt they’re gonna need a ballerina…

Assistant teacher in the drama department.

It’s hard to explain the mysteries of drama, it’s something you have to feel rather than see. Much like dancing, except it ties into all the fields: Dancing, singing, and acting, although it’s much more than just that.

It sounds amazing. I’ve always loved musicals and Broadway and all other things theater. Do you think I might be able to sit in on one of your classes, or is that not allowed? My parents never let me do anything but ballet.

I’ve done ballet my whole life as well, its the foundation of every type of dance out there but it never really interested me, I’m more of the contemporary, jazz dancer. I definitely know what its like to be the best, we’re both amazing dancers, I’ve noticed you in class. Perfection is what every dancer is after, anyone with passion is going to continue working until they get it.

I would LOVE to work on more jazz and contemporary pieces, but my parents always kept me strictly on pointe. My mom was a professional ballerina herself, Grace Gallagher, you might had heard of her. But anyways, I’ve got shoes to fill. Jazz looks so much more fun. I love ballet but god it gets boring. And I can only take Miss Chase’s barre playlist so many times before I want to shoot myself.

Of course you do, you don’t need to pull out the innocent card.

Well.. I’ve never been one for passing judgements, so how about we just start fresh?

You’re the drama teacher now, right? Sorry if I’m mistaken, the drama department has always been a mystery to me.
